Farhad has extensive entrepreneurial, investment and corporate advisory experience. He is a mentor to a number of early-stage companies globally and has a successful track record of investing in new ventures. He also acts as an independent advisor to corporate and charitable organisations.
Farhad has served as the Managing Director and Investment Committee member of a frontier markets private equity firm, investing in high growth sectors of Afghanistan. He is a founding team member of, and an investor in, Anthemis Group (a London-based holding company providing vision, strategy, leadership and capital to early-stage companies, with the ambition to build the worlds first digitally native financial services group). Anthemis Group is an investor in more than 30 start-up companies globally, operating within the Financial Technology (FinTech) space.
Farhad spent his early years at Credit Suisse in London, advising clients on global mergers and acquisitions. He has successfully advised on a number of transactions across a range of industries including healthcare, retail, consumer, media, energy, technology, and financial services. Farhad graduated with a first class degree in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College, London.
Farhads interests include long distance running, cycling, triathlons, hiking, philosophy, philanthropy, and languages. He is fluent in English and Dari/Farsi, and has an intermediate knowledge of Pashto, Urdu, French and Spanish. He has travelled to over 50 countries across Asia, Australia, Africa, South America and North America.
