Launched in Kabul in 2014, BookClub Afghanistan is an open community of over 1,200 active Afghan book enthusiasts.

There are bi-weekly meet-up on Fridays in Kabul, where members attend and invite at least one author/writer to facilitate discussions on book reading/writing and exchange knowledge in an academic and friendly environment. Members also share and discuss books/e-books (published in Dari, Pashto or English) via an online Facebook Group.

The genre of the books discussed include both non-fiction (biographies, business/leadership, creativity, fitness, philosophy/science, psychology, self-development and creative writing) and fiction (novels, fantasy, mystery and science fiction).
